June 20, 2019, New York, NY – Working in Support of Education (W!se), a leading educational nonprofit, will mark its 20th anniversary with a gala celebration at the historic New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, June 20th. For two decades, W!se has been dedicated to improving the lives of young people and at-risk adults through programs that develop financial literacy and readiness for college and the workforce.

Through award-winning, innovative programs such the Financial Literacy Certification program for high schoolers, the W!se Institute offering college and career readiness workshops, the Quality of Life INNOVATIONS program addressing real-world issues, and the MoneyW!SE program for domestic violence survivors, W!se has helped over 1 million underserved young people and at-risk adults in 48 states and has provided more than 6 million hours of classroom instruction annually.

“We are so honored to be celebrating twenty years of W!se,” said Phyllis Frankfort Perillo, President & CEO of W!se. “We founded this organization to address financial literacy and college readiness – two key issues that, if unaddressed, could undermine our country’s long-term growth. So even as we celebrate, we will continue to work tirelessly to solve these two issues and continue to build upon the strong foundation of quality programming.”

The evening at the New York Stock Exchange will feature the closing bell, a presentation on the history of the Exchange, cocktails on the iconic trading floor and dinner in the Exchange’s Board Room. Sponsors include the New York Stock Exchange, Wells Fargo, and PwC.

As part of the celebration, the gala will honor the accomplishments of four remarkable honorees: Stacey Cunningham, President, New York Stock Exchange; Shannon Schuyler, Principal and Chief Purpose Officer, PwC US; Mark Tibergien, CEO of Advisor Solutions, BNY Mellon|Pershing; and Dr. Charlotte Frank, Senior Advisor, Research and Development, McGraw-Hill Education.
