Scams, some legal and others not, abound. One such “scam” that companies use in hopes of making more money off of you than you agree to is the negative options scam. A common negative option scam is a subscription or contract that automatically renews unless you cancel by a certain date. It surprises many consumers and adds a cost that was not expected to someone who might otherwise be very careful financially.
