As American industry modernizes, so do its components. In addition to ever-evolving technology, a clear and present trend has become somewhat hard to ignore. The U.S. workforce is getting younger and younger.
Nowhere is that more apparent than in Pew Research Center’s analysis of recent United State Census Bureau data. In the accompanying report, the organization’s Richard Fry details how the largest percentage of employed individuals are classified as “Millennials.” For those unfamiliar with the term, it covers citizens born within the yearly range of 1981-1997 for now (the latter year is the first in which individuals would be 18).
The Millennials take over for Generation X (born 1965-1980) as the workforce majority. The latter had previously usurped the Baby Boomer Generation (born 1946-1964) in 2012 for this title.
