Anyone who has spent any time as an underclassman on a college campus knows that the decision on whether or not to get a credit card is one you must make very quickly. That’s because banks and credit card companies flood college campuses with credit card offers.

There are pros and cons to signing up for a credit card to use while in college. They can be great for emergencies, when you need to spend money you don’t have. And using a credit card, assuming you can pay it off on time consistently, is great for building up your credit.
